Creating a System for Productivity

God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day.

Genesis 1:5 (NKJV)

The Lord is systematic in how He works and in how He defines success in a day. In the Genesis account of recreation, we see the Lord systematically redesigning the earth to suit His purposes. It shows us that however chaotic our lives have been, we have the ability to reset and recreate our environment and the lives we desire through His system: the use of the day and the night as design boards on which to make and create the lives we desire.

Interestingly, even though it is easily within His power to finish everything in a second, He does not do it all in one day. He spreads the work across six days.

But notice that each day ends only once He has completed His objective. It was His goal that determined the extent of the day, and not the other way around. On some days He did more work, and on others relatively less, but the goal, the agenda, determined what was to be done on a given day, and its fulfilment determined the end of that day and the beginning of a new one.

In our own lives we must be in charge of our days, and developing a structured, systematic plan and a goal book helps us succeed in our objectives. The Lord is structured, and He is supremely successful. You too can bring structure and planning into your life and command success into your days and your destiny, because structure, planning systems, goal setting and execution help us achieve success in any endeavour.

Use a calendar; God has one. Get a goal book. Download relevant productivity apps on your phone. Write all your plans down, then create a system for achieving and materialising them through setting goals and tasks. This is the only way you can measure your progress and success in life; anything less is living in delusion. The Lord wants us to be productive. Now go and become a daily producer.
