Labouring in Prayer

Before any plant of the field was in the earth and before any herb of the field had grown. For the Lord God had not caused it to rain on the earth, and there was no man to till the ground.

Genesis 2:5 (NKJV)

I was in prayer when the Spirit of God said to me clearly:

"God does not rain where man has not tilled the ground. Men must prepare for the move of the Spirit, the rain of God, in their lives, ministries, communities and nations. Rain is the promise of harvest, but only to the man who has prepared his ground. Many of My people ask for the rain, and rightly so, but many ask without having laboured in the Spirit in prayer, and many ask without having sown words filled with faith.

"Remember that the rain is My responsibility, but tilling the ground is yours. Is it not written that men are the ground on which I work by the power of My Spirit? Many times My servants and children come to Me in prayer and ask Me to come to their meeting, a service or a project they are undertaking, but they have not taken time to prepare the land through declarations and the sowing of prayers. That is why many of the things they do fail, and do not blossom into anything worthwhile.

"Let Me admonish you. From now on, if you will take time, hours, days, even weeks and months, to sow words into your meetings and your projects, the blessings and rains of My Spirit upon those endeavours will not fail. Your ground is that service, that business project, that crusade or revival from which you are looking for results; anything that must yield is your ground, even nations and cities. Only then can My rain, My supernatural blessing, ensure its success. Therefore spend time in the Spirit, praying in the Spirit and speaking forth words, and the rain will fall, exceeding even your expectations. Everything in life is prepared by words, so seek My Spirit for direction concerning the words you should speak for every occasion."
