Living by Words
Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high.

To understand life, and the forces that regulate it, we must consider the Creator's process of design and intent. There is a law that all things must be sustained by the source of their creation, so understanding how creation came about can give us a glimpse into the secrets of conquering life. God created the universe and all its diverse forms of life without any raw materials but His Word. Science would have you believe otherwise, with all its theories and so-called calculations, but to understand creation you need not science but faith. Everything created or made owes its existence to the Word, the voice, of God. Things came into being because God spoke. The Scripture also declares that the Word that created was God, so if you need God to live, you surely need His Word.
Words are the foundation and substance of creation. Everything God created is therefore sustained by the words that created it; this is the process of creation and sustenance. The only way Adam could succeed or fail was by the very commands spoken to him, and you can trace any man's fall back to the words that brought about his rise. The Word created heaven and earth, the spiritual and the natural, which means that words take effect in all these territories. Anyone who understands words, and how to use them, will become a master in Him. The Scripture says that Jesus tamed the world by His word. The integrity of a man is measured by his word: just as God's word is a reflection of Himself, so a man's word is a reflection of himself. Your life will take the shape and character of your words. This is the law of creation: words control the direction of all life.
Throughout Israel's relationship with God, His voice was always the barometer of their success or failure, promotion or disgrace, peace or destruction. Their destiny as a nation was tied to the voice of God. Divine wisdom has decreed that man, as a species, should and must live by the voice of God; his success depends on it. Every other system in the Kingdom therefore serves to make us better at living by the voice of God. There is an element of power in human words that regulates life, but to access the power of the universe you need the voice of God active in your life, because that is how you were created to live. The voice, the commands, of God will either make your life or destroy it; the choice is yours.
Train yourself to live by the words you speak, and even more by the words God speaks to you through the Holy Spirit or through His anointed servants. This is what it means to live by words: to have your actions and choices governed by the spoken word. Become a man or woman of your word; become a man or woman of the voice of God.
