The Covenant of Extreme Abundance

And I will make My covenant between Me and you, and will multiply you exceedingly.

God's ideal has never been "just enough to get by," or "as long as we have enough for today." That would stand in stark contrast to His nature and character. God's dream for His children is greater than we can conceive, and His desire for us to succeed and be wealthy exceeds our own. That is why, through the accurate teaching of His Word, little by little and precept upon precept, He impresses on us the mentality of wealth. Without it, it would be impossible to know the mind of God on the subject; but thank God, you can.

If you are willing and obedient, You shall eat the good of the land.

Some time ago the Spirit of God gave me a thought: "Wealth, like marriage, is not an idea that originated with man but with God. Poverty, like divorce, originated with man. Settle it in your mind that nothing that brings destruction comes from God."

No child of God should be afraid of, or question, his desire to become wealthy, because it is a desire inherent in human nature, put there by God. The better question is what good has ever come out of poverty, when all it has produced in the lives of many is misery, brokenness, discontent and darkness. That alone should convince you that it is not God's desire for you to be poor. He said that His thoughts toward us are of peace and not of evil, to give us a future and a hope.

He has a covenant with the seed of Abraham, a covenant of extreme multiplication, increase and abundance. He told Abraham, "I am your exceedingly great reward," and He is your reward too. He is El Shaddai, the many-breasted God, the God of abundance, and all that He is, is your inheritance. We have only to learn to follow Him and serve Him.

My goal in writing this is to help the reader break out of the trenches of poverty, not only material poverty, but by conditioning you spiritually and mentally through the biblical truths presented here. Make no mistake: poverty is a dangerous force that destroys potential and value in the soul of man. God does not want you poor; that is final. The poor cannot liberate the poor, and Kingdom people should be useful vessels to humanity. When the anointing and power of the Spirit came upon Jesus, He became a philanthropist. This is what the power of wealth and prosperity will make of us in the Kingdom. Wealth is your birthright.

Abraham and Israel

Serving and living for God should produce notable results. Many wrongly assume that those who serve God should live modest, poor lives. That is ignorant and unscriptural. Everyone who lived his life for God became a force in his generation, not only in stature and influence, but multiplying exceedingly in wealth and riches. To invest one's life in God and His laws for living is the greatest investment a man can make; eventually he becomes the envy of the nations.

Now when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and behold, horror and great darkness fell upon him. Then He said to Abram: "Know certainly that your descendants will be strangers in a land that is not theirs, and will serve them, and they will afflict them four hundred years. And also the nation whom they serve I will judge; afterward they shall come out with great possessions."

God promised great wealth to the descendants of Abraham. Wealth and riches are the inheritance of God's people.

For He remembered His holy promise, And Abraham His servant. He brought out His people with joy, His chosen ones with gladness. He gave them the lands of the Gentiles, And they inherited the labor of the nations, That they might observe His statutes And keep His laws. Praise the Lord!

Psalm 105:42–45 (NKJV)

This was the experience of the nation of Israel, the consequence of the covenant God had made with their father. What other nations laboured for, they inherited. It began in Egypt and continued throughout their exodus until they arrived in the promised land. God gave them victory after victory, and they increased and multiplied in wealth from the spoils of the nations, all because the Lord wanted them to focus on serving Him and observing His laws. Do you see how essential financial freedom is to the spiritual development of God's people? The Word of God exposes you to God's system of advancement in life: how a man can align himself with God and possess all the promises and pleasures the Kingdom offers. God can make you wealthy. In principle, Israel had to fight and wage war to enjoy God's rest and promises, and this prophetic edict is no different for us: we must wage war and fight, following God's voice, for these realities to be manifested. Listen to the voice of God, and go to war, child of God. Your fight may be a season of prayer and fasting, a change of career, starting a business or going back to university. Whatever God tells you to do is the key to accessing the covenant. Find it out, be sensitive to the leading of His Spirit, and enjoy all that He has for you.
