The Greatest Help You'll Ever Need
Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

Life in general is hard, and compounded by various adverse factors it can become an even harsher and more ruthless environment to live in. This is why mere survival is the striving of most of humanity. It is sad, because it is not the Creator's original plan for mankind, yet it is the reality many call home, living in perpetual cycles of struggle, pain and hopelessness.
What if I told you that you can change your life to align with your expectations and dreams by allying yourself with the greatest help you will ever need? Say no more; let me introduce Him to you. Beloved, say hello to the Holy Spirit, the greatest Helper, Coach, Mentor and Teacher there is.
Jesus, in His earthly ministry, was the Holy Spirit's greatest advocate. He wanted us to know Him so much that on every occasion He found, He testified of His nature, character, ability and power. He wanted us to have Him within us so much that He died to make it a reality. Now every believer has access to the greatest and most important Person there ever was. You may not know it fully now, just as Ephesus was not aware that Jesus was their first love, but the secret to overcoming this world and winning at life is the Holy Spirit.
Think about it: Jesus, being God Himself, was incapacitated in His function without the Spirit. He could not heal, preach or perform any miracle without the Spirit; He depended on Him for everything. Jesus is the most renowned and greatest human being ever to walk the earth. He lived in a time with no technology, no media and no Instagram, and yet His name has remained relevant through the generations. His impact on this world is eternal; even creatures and creations yet unborn want to know about Him. And all of this is because of the Holy Spirit. Do not take it from me. Jesus Himself said, "The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works." In essence He was saying, "I am just a yielded vessel. I have allowed the Holy Spirit to take ownership of My spirit, soul and body, and that is why the outcomes of My life are supernatural." He gave the credit for His miraculous life and ability to the Spirit. And He said something else: that after He died and went to heaven, this Spirit would come to live in us and help us achieve what He achieved, and even more.
This is the vision of Jesus Christ: to see a generation of children, men and women give full expression to the Holy Spirit in their lives. I too once asked how that is possible, until the Lord opened my eyes to the key to entering into communion with the Spirit and receiving His help. My dear friend, it is prayer, and a great deal of it. This is the gateway to the inner life with the Holy Spirit. The way to the Father is Jesus, the way to Jesus is the Spirit, and the way to the Spirit of God is prayer. This is how we receive Him, His help and His ability, and how we increase our consciousness of Him and our acknowledgement of our need for Him.
Let me challenge you tonight. Look at yourself, and find all your weaknesses, limitations and shortcomings. Then read the opening scripture aloud, personalising it, and see whether hope, faith and strength do not rise within your spirit. At the lowest points in my life, when I felt helpless and could see no way ahead, with no strength to pray, I would sit in the dark and read Romans 8:26 under my breath, and soon enough I would find strength to pray, not in my strength but in His. The solutions would come, and the boldness to overcome. This is how God has helped me navigate through life, because, to be honest with you, if I had not discovered the Holy Spirit my life would be a dark, chaotic, formless mess. Thank God for the Spirit. If you feel all alone and helpless in life, it is not that you are alone; it is that you have not yet encountered the Spirit. Once you truly do, your life will be transformed. Take it from me; I am a living testimony. So go ahead. Find a quiet, undistracted place you can go to every day to give yourself to the Spirit, to make your weaknesses and helplessness known to Him, and to acknowledge Him in your life, and you will see Him step into your life and revolutionise it, to the glory of God.
