The Immutability of God: Eternally Faithful
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

It is difficult for human beings to conceive of the eternal steadfastness of God, especially when we have no adequate reference point for that attribute. Everything in our world changes at some point; nothing remains constant, and we know of nothing that is immutable. But God is.
This means that you can know how God was billions of years ago by studying how He is today, through the little of Him that is revealed in the Bible. That is why it is so important to study how God has dealt with His creation, from angels to mankind, to gain a better understanding of His character and ways. In fact, the Scriptures say that nature reveals the mystery of the Godhead.
There is great comfort in knowing that the God who speaks over your life is the same God who called light out of darkness, who gave an impotent man a son in his old age, who anointed a shepherd boy to be king and raised up prophets from among shepherds, the same God who became a man and walked the streets of Galilee, healing, delivering and saving. It is a staggering truth that the One who is with you and in you today was with Moses and Joshua, and was faithful to see them through.
He is faithful in every generation. When He met Joshua He said, "As I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you." The same is true for you today: He will never leave you nor forsake you. Trust Him. Imagine how comforting and strengthening it must have been for Joshua to hear those words, having grown up witnessing God's faithfulness in the life of Moses, and now that same God promised to be with him in the same way. That alone must have imparted tremendous confidence to him.
I want you to know today that He has never changed, and He never will. The same Jesus who spoke to the sea, to the fig tree and to diseases is the One who speaks His word of promise over your life today. It does not matter what your circumstances are preaching to you; they are lying vanities. Keep your confidence in the integrity of God. He has never failed, and He never will. He is wholly dependable.
