Understanding the Purpose of Wealth

And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.

Deuteronomy 8:18 (NKJV)

Wealth is a covenant God enters into with you. It rests on a divine contract, and it works only when all the demands of the contract are met. Every man who desires to enter into the promises of the covenant must therefore come to understand its terms fully. God is most interested in establishing His Kingdom on earth, and He needs faithful stewards whose primary concern is for the very same intentions as His own. That is where prayer and meditation help to circumcise our hearts: the more time you spend with the Lord, the more He burns the chaff out of your life.

Every man or woman who is devoted to the progress of the Kingdom will have an abundance of wealth. Your heart and mind toward wealth should always be spiritual, that is, aligned with God's plans and purposes. It is for this reason, I believe, that many in God's Kingdom have yet to enter into His promises of prosperity and wealth. Wealth lies at the table of wisdom and understanding.

Take time to understand the requirements for accessing wealth on the basis of God's covenant with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

Lastly, the Lord Jesus Christ gave gifts to His Church, the government through which He has chosen to build His people here on earth. We must therefore also recognise that there is enough grace upon the five ministry gifts in the Church to make the body of Christ on earth wealthy.

God's economic system rides on the spiritual impact of the fivefold ministry. As we near the close of the age, you will see the Church's economic landscape shaped by prophetic utterance, just as the economy of a nation was once changed in a day through the word of a prophet. True wealth is a by-product of God's Word. Train yourself to speak like God, and create wealth through words.
