What Satan Fears the Most

The Church of Jesus Christ is the only entity on earth that Satan fears. More than governments, kings, billionaires or armies, it is the body of Christ that threatens the advance of his plans and his terror. He fears the Church immensely, and so he has spent the last of his might weaving a veil of blindness to cast over the nations and, if possible, over the Church. His best hope is to keep her ignorant of the power and the realities that Christ's redemptive work secured for her, and so to diminish the one thing that can lift the Church into the reigning state ordained for her.

There is nothing Satan knows better than that he has been defeated by Christ. It is an experience he carries with him always, but he does not want you to know it, because the day you do, his reign of fear and terror over you will end. Jesus defeated him thoroughly, and in His name Satan is reminded of this reality every day. So his best strategy is to keep you uninformed, and if he cannot, to make sure you do not believe it and act on it. This is why the Church seems so weak today: Satan has persuaded her not to believe the Word but to trust in the methods of men. Today you will almost be stoned and ridiculed by Christians for holding to the Word of God. Where is the power the Spirit brought at Pentecost? We see ministers going on marches and strikes, and submitting memoranda to governments so that they will be recognised as essential. When did we ever have to beg for our relevance in this world? Is this the faith once delivered to us? Churches create forums and seek permission to preach from governments under satanic influence. Where is the Spirit of God in all this? I can tell you that He is not in it; the spirit of antichrist is behind it. When did Jesus or the apostles ask permission to witness for God? No, beloved: the modern Church has fallen to the tactics of this age-old spirit, instead of standing on the solid rock of the Word.

"When the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?" It is the question of the ages, and one this generation of believers must seriously ponder. In it we find not only the challenge of the end times but a revelation of Satan's priority in his attack: to stop the Church, by every means, from believing and from strengthening her faith in God, in Christ, in His Spirit and in His Word, and to weaken her by any means possible. The weakening of the Church's faith matters so much to Satan because without faith God cannot be pleased, nor can the Church access the resources and possibilities in God. All the weapons of the Kingdom needed to enforce the victory of Christ are stored in the treasuries of faith. Faith is the key; all our prayers, fastings and Christian activities cannot bear fruit without it.

If the Church understood this, she would do everything to protect her faith from this satanic onslaught. In the parable of the sower, we see how the enemy uses different strategies to snatch the word away and prevent it from bearing fruit in your life, all in order to stop you from believing. The Word of God must first produce faith in you before any other reality it holds out to you can be actualised, so Satan fights the sowing of the Word to stop faith from being built in you. The Word in you is a serious threat to Satan and his plans.

Consider these truths:

• You can stop and destroy the works of Satan just as Jesus did in His ministry, simply by commanding him, because the source of faith is the commands of the Word, and so its power is in commanding.
• You can bind and forbid his operations over your life, your family or your nation.
• With the Holy Spirit in you, you are greater than anything and anyone that belongs to Satan, including all the systems erected by him and his children. You are an overcomer.
• In the name of Jesus you have access to all the possibilities of Jesus; you can do what He can do.
• Because of the blood, you have triumphed over Satan, and can demand victory in your life.

Think about these few propositions. An enemy would not want you to know and believe them. Yet it is his constant fear that a remnant will rise and dare to believe the Word of God, and go out into the world to occupy for Jesus. You have more power and possibilities available to you than you could ever imagine. It is not too late. Delve into the Word, and behold what and who God has made you. Satan's greatest fear is that you will live in the consciousness of Christ's finished work, "and by all that mighty power and all the great terror which Moses performed in the sight of all Israel."
