Wisdom Is the Principal Thing

Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding.

The wisdom of God is timeless: it is superior to, and unaffected by, the changes, transitions and advancements that civilisation passes through. It therefore enables any man or woman who walks in it to adapt readily to the world of his time, in any future period.

This matters for the Christian, because through God's wisdom he can position himself ahead of his generation, drawing from the wells of divine insight for solutions and innovations concerning the world of tomorrow. The discoveries of tomorrow could well be imparted to this generation of Christians, to strengthen the footprint of the Gospel and of the Church in the world.

The wisdom of God keeps us relevant and influential in our time. We should not be alarmed by the rapid changes this world is undergoing; rather, we should be inspired to press into the depthless, eternal Word to find solutions. We should desire that our minds be entirely augmented by God's Word. The world we are moving into requires that we be supermen, with super minds, facing the challenges of our generation.

I believe now is the greatest time to invest in the wisdom of God, and we should advance in how we operate in it. The Church is destined to school the angelic beings in the wisdom of God, and we are also obligated to manifest that wisdom to this world, to school the world. But we must offer something better and greater than what science has, for science and new, emerging technologies have disrupted our view of life.

Science has done a great deal to help civilisation, and some secular thinkers would even argue that it has done more for humanity than God has. But this world is in for a shock. By the wisdom of God, the body of Christ will do for this world what science and technology could never imagine doing. We are moving into a new era, the era of supernatural operations by the wisdom of God. We will see more people queuing outside churches than outside hospitals, more people in prayer rooms than in government institutions, and greater multitudes in church services than in universities and schools. The fivefold ministry must rise into the place of wisdom to which the Lord has called it. God's wisdom is infinitely greater than the best algorithm or mathematical equation, and greater than every scientific discovery and technological advancement.

Seek the wisdom of God for your life today. Seek it in His Word through constant meditation, and by praying in the Spirit. Remember that Jesus Christ is your wisdom; as you fellowship with Him, that wisdom rubs off on your spirit and mind. Brother, sister, it is time to live above your environment.
