Life Does Not Care That You Are Tired
And so it was, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed; and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed. But Moses' hands became heavy; so they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it. And Aaron and Hur supported his hands, one on one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.

Life is spiritual. All of its physical and soulish aspects have their origin in the Spirit. This is not difficult to understand once you realise that the Author of life, God, is a Spirit. His nature is spiritual, and so all of life finds its truest meaning in that dimension.
Much of what happens in our lives has been determined in the spiritual world. Science cannot explain this, but faith can. In this area of life only faith can help you understand, and you find it in the Word of God, which is greater than any book of science and whose truths are eternal. The Bible says that all of physical life and its activities are governed by spiritual life.
By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.

Men like Elisha, Moses and David understood this clearly: that a man must align himself with the spiritual forces of God if he is to experience any victory in this life. This does not mean doing nothing in the natural; after all, Moses instructed Joshua to go and fight. There is a physical element of life that we must attend to, but remember that there is also the spiritual, to keep life in balance. The problem with many is that they do everything physically and forget the more important element of life, the spiritual.
The account in Exodus 17 paints a powerful picture. It did not matter how skilful Joshua was or how powerful the army of Israel; the spiritual dimension Moses brought was imperative to their victory. The Bible makes it clear that the lifting of Moses' hand, holding the rod of God, the symbol of spiritual power and authority, determined the outcome of the battle.
As long as Moses' hands were up, Israel prevailed; when they came down, Amalek beat Israel back. It must have been a thrilling thing to behold, for there is something spiritual about lifting your hands.
What catches my attention, however, is that even though Moses' act had such a marked effect on the battle, when he grew tired and his hands came down, Israel suffered. It tells me that the spiritual realm of life does not care whether you are tired, weary, heartbroken or frustrated. The war will go on, and you will lose.
To secure victories and blessings, and to overcome in life, you must do what needs to be done. If you have to pray all night, pray. If you have to go without food for a month, let it be so. If you must study through the night to pass, or work sixteen hours to meet a deadline, it has to be done.
The spirit world does not wait for you. If ever there was a time to act, it is now. If ever there was a time to climb the spiritual mountain and lift up your hands to God in prayer, it is now. All else can wait. Secure the victory in the wars of your life. God bless you.
