The Beauty of the Human Spirit

The true beauty of the human spirit can be revealed only through prayer, for prayer brings us into contact not only with God but with the inner man. Unless a man prays, he can never come into contact with his true self and the glory within him. Prayer is the activity of aligning things in every realm of life through communion with Almighty God, and so it is only through the agency of prayer that we can change, and that the nature of things can be changed. Our whole being depends on that engagement of the spirit.

The beauty of praying is that our prayers reach the ears of Almighty God upon His glorious throne of thrones. If that is so, then there is nothing, and no place in this world, in need of change that cannot be touched by the power of prayer. There is no distance so far that prayer cannot reach it, and no power so strong that the force of prayer cannot overcome it. No human or otherworldly being is as powerful as prayer. Let that sink in for a moment.

We should yearn for the grace of prayer, for our whole lives depend on it. All of God's power can be invited through this medium of the Spirit.

The soul that prays will know God. The man who prays will find that everything that should happen in and for his life falls into place.
