The Fight of Life

Many of God's people approach life very casually. They seem almost indifferent to the warfare going on around them, largely because of ignorance and a lack of adequate teaching of the Word of God. The Bible is very clear on the subject of warfare.

Jesus defeated the devil and his cohorts, and delivered to His Church the authority to subdue and to establish the Kingdom. It had to be Jesus who destroyed the devil, because only He could: all of mankind had been subjected to the devil through Adam's disobedience, and so the second Adam restored to His Church the original right of dominion.

Someone will ask why, then, we still need to wage war, if Satan is defeated and stripped of his power. It is because if we do not put the devil in his place, he will seek to occupy ours. He is the enemy of God and of all that are His, and will remain so until he is finally cast into the lake of fire, and until then we still have to deal with him. He has been at war since he was cast out of heaven, and he will be at war until the battle of Megiddo.

So we Christians have a responsibility to keep the devil in his defeated place; we are, after all, his chief enemies here on earth. An understanding of our warfare and of our roles gives us an advantage over our enemy, for while he has been stripped of Adamic authority, he still possesses a measure of angelic power and wisdom.

Frankly, you need to learn to fight with God's supernatural weapons, such as prayer, prophecy, praise and worship. It is the only way to guarantee that the victory of Christ is enforced in your life.

Life is a war zone. Those who do not arm themselves with the knowledge of God's Word and enter the war zone prepared will become casualties and forfeit their destiny.

You do not become great without overcoming. You do not achieve anything noteworthy without blasting through the mountains and storms of life, and you certainly will not fulfil your destiny without warring in the Spirit, enforcing the victory of Christ on the cross.

Wake up and realise that you can have and be everything God intended for you, but you must learn the art of spiritual warfare and fight from a place of victory. God is not going to deal with the devil for you; the onus is on you, and your destiny, and the destinies of your loved ones, depend on it.
