Why You Need to Become Wealthy
The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former, says the Lord of hosts. And in this place I will give peace, says the Lord of hosts.
Haggai 2:9 (NKJV)
According to this scripture, more wealth will be displayed in the end times than in any previous generation; this end-time temple will have greater glory than all the temples before it. This is amazing. God says, "I will fill the temple with wealth," and I believe Him. The temple is the image of the glory of God to the nations. Wealth is a necessity.
God is interested in bringing the silver and the gold into the temple; this is His mind concerning the stature of the Church in the world. Look at the temple of Solomon and you see its splendour. Why should it be any different in our generation? He is still the same God. When the temple was dedicated, the glory came upon that place, and God Himself consecrated it. The temple of God must manifest the glory of God, and this glory is synonymous with wealth.
The modern Church of Jesus Christ cannot display the glory of God without also displaying extreme wealth. God told Abraham that He would judge the nation that enslaved his descendants, and that afterward they would come out with great possessions. The Bible tells us that they did come out with great wealth. But for what purpose? They were heading to a land that already had wealth: its streams flowed with milk and honey, its stones were copper, and its gold was abundant. What was the wealth God gave them going to be used for?
It is not until the later chapters of Exodus that we discover the purpose of all the wealth they took from Egypt. It was to serve in their worship of God, in the construction of the tabernacle and its furnishings, which were a representation of the true sanctuary in the heavens that God showed Moses. In effect, the wealth was given to materialise a spiritual vision the Lord had shown Moses.
Everything in the tabernacle symbolised a reality of God. They had to use gold to forge the lampstand, a symbol of the Spirit of God, and the table of showbread, a picture of the presence of God, and so on. The tabernacle was built with the wealth God gave them. We cannot build for God without wealth; His visions and plans can be made reality only through wealth.
Think about it: Moses could not have materialised what God showed him without the wealth plundered from Egypt. It was imperative that they came out with wealth, in order later to make the vision a reality. Child of God, if God is going to reveal His plan for your life, if God is going to use you in some way, please make being wealthy a priority. Let it be your chief prayer point, because wealth is essential. The plans and purposes of God in your life may go unfulfilled without the function of wealth in your life. There has to be wealth to support the materialisation of the will of God.
A man cannot truly fulfil his destiny and God's agenda for his life unless there is a definite and sustained manifestation of prosperity in his life. If you want the will of God done in your life, you should be as conscious of prosperity as the demand of God upon your life requires. What was in heaven could not be materialised without the use of wealth. God said, "Go and tell these people to give of their gold, their silver and their wealth, that they may build Me a sanctuary." God builds His sanctuary with wealth.
